LAS VEGAS, NV — September 27, 2007 — 3VR, the pioneer in searchable surveillance, stole the show at ASIS International, the security industry's most highly anticipated event. Championing the convention, 3VR hosted a jam packed booth, multiple exciting new dealer announcements and a highly anticipated presentation from 3VR's CEO Stephen Russell to some of the 50,000 industry leaders attending the conference. 3VR's James “Gator” Hudson, VP of CrimeDex™ Services, Detective Sergeant Retired, was also in the spotlight after leading his ASIS team to victory at the inaugural ASIS Foundation shooting competition, hosted by the North Las Vegas Police Range with all proceeds from the event going to charity.
About 100 ASIS members gathered at the shooting event, broken into teams of 4. The competition started on Sunday, September 23rd at 8am and lasted until 2:30pm. The shootout involved firing 80 rounds from the 3, 7, 15, and 25 yard lines. Gator's winning team, “Shooter's Choice”, smoked the competition with the highest score of the day. Gator started at a disadvantage by being in the first team of shooters on a course they'd never shot before. Most shooters at the competition competed with their own match weapons, while Gator shot with a Glock 17 pistol loaned by the Glock rep supplying loaners to all shooters not “packing heat” in Las Vegas.
Hudson comments, “I was surprised how well I shot using a brand new loaner weapon. The Glock functioned flawlessly right out of the box. My entire team shot really well and we had a great time at the competition. 3VR is accustomed to winning product shootouts at ASIS, but this is our first pistol shootout. I'm excited we could claim another victory at the show.”
Gator has 23 years of law enforcement shooting experience including swat team competitions. He is well known throughout the security industry for founding CrimeDex™, an online criminal database that helps banks, retailers, and law enforcement identify criminals, expedite investigations and share critical information to stop fraud. CrimeDex™ was acquired by 3VR in March 2007.
