3VR is really excited to welcome Jeff Karnes as the Senior Vice President of Marketing. Until recently, Jeff was the CEO of Pixel Forensics, a video-mining startup. He comes to us with a wealth of experience with video technology and business intelligence from senior positions at Yahoo, Virage and Autonomy.
"3VR is at the forefront of delivering solutions which allow companies to search and gain insights from the growing amount of video. Joining 3VR at this moment in the evolution of video and big data is an incredible opportunity and I’m thrilled to be part of the company."
Jeff’s first day with us will be in our booth (#3745) at NRF’s Big Show 2014! We'll be interviewing Jeff in the booth, so keep an eye out for the video! (If you're coming to NRF, please stop by and see us for a demo of our new suite of retail analytics.)
We are still about 10 weeks away from the end of the year, but I am willing to bet that leaking of documents by Edward Snowden will make it to one of the top news stories of 2013. Much of what has been reported since then has been around the enormity of the NSA program. The debate in the media, rightfully so, is on the ethics and legality of the program. It highlights the balance that needs to be struck between privacy and power, security and freedom, and protection and growth. What’s seldom discussed are the rapid advances in technology that makes modern surveillance so different from yesteryear.
