We've had this one in the oven for quite some time and are very happy to announce the release of CrimeDex 2.0 -- incorporating several new and exciting features, including a collaborative group interface, video and image support, and complete integration capabilities with the award-winning 3VR surveillance platform.
We're also excited to announce that MVFCN and CFCIA will be two of the first law enforcement associations to transition from CrimeDex 1.0 to the 2.0 beta this month!
Two big retail-focused announcements out of 3VR today, including the release of a full suite of video surveillance features specifically tailored to the security needs of retailers. These include people counting capabilities, advanced object tracking and surveillance, and integrations to critical retail systems like point-of-sale, electronic article surveillance systems and access control, and are available on all 3VR SmartRecorders, including the newly released S-Series.
Today, we announced that our Director of Engineering, Tom Faulhaber, is chairing a newly formed digital video working group to develop a new industry standard for video analytics in surveillance security systems. Check out the full release here.
The group (formed by the Security Industry Association, the leading trade group for businesses in the electronic physical security market) is working to define and draft a video analytic standard to augment SIA’s existing ANSI DVI (Digital Video Interface) standard for communications and data exchange between smart cameras, DVRs and other security components.
Our chairmain and co-founder, Steve Russell, recently connected with Rob Jenkins, a lecturer at the University at Glasgow and a leading authority of facial recognition technology in the UK, to pick his brain about different topics in facial recognition, namely airport security, the future of biometric technology and privacy/related concerns.
Rob had some very insightful, innovative answers on the general topic of facial recognition, and we're excited to share them with our blog's growing readership. Going forward, we hope to have other thought leaders and readers share commentary on the blog -- please feel free to make comments on any of the responses or questions, and we will be sure to address them.
Earlier today, we announced support for H.264 megapixel IP cameras from market-leading manufacturer, Arecont Vision. Check out the full press release here.
More than just camera compatibility, 3VR’s integration with Arecont Vision’s H.264 megapixel IP cameras provides a simple-to-use interface allowing customers to segment the field of view of megapixel cameras into multiple virtual camera streams. Customers now have the ability to integrate each virtual camera to data systems such as POS, teller and access control systems, thus providing accurate and rapid video alerts and search based on nearly any data point.
